Welcome!

I am a researcher of international law and international relations, with a particular interest in how actors use international law for strategic goals and what these uses, in turn, do to law. My work often focuses on questions of human rights and the use of military force and particularly how actors create and contest different meanings of compliance. You may find more information on my research interests and current projects on this site.

I am an Assistant Professor (Universitair Docent 2) of International Relations at the University of Amsterdam, working in the Transnational Configurations, Conflicts and Governance group of the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science ResearchPreviously, I was a Research Fellow with the Berlin-Potsdam Research Group "The International Rule of Law – Rise or Decline?" and I completed my Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Southern California (USC).

If you have any questions, or would like to reach out regarding possible collaborations, you may find my contact information on this site as well.
